Synopsis:

**Mature Content Warning** This is a New Adult novel recommended for ages 17+ due to language, sexual content, and mature subject matter.

Determined to overcome a dark and tragic past, college student Everly Wallace is only months away from earning her degree in physical therapy. She’s consumed with school, caring for her ailing grandfather, and figuring out how to pay the next bill. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but it just might be the one thing she needs.

Major League pitcher Cole Parker hasn’t fought for anything in his life. He went from a privileged upbringing to a multimillion dollar All-Star career. But when his pitching shoulder starts to give him trouble at only twenty-four years old, he faces the possibility of his injury becoming public knowledge and costing him everything.

In a desperate bid to save his career, Cole decides to hire someone to treat his injury, someone who will keep things off the record and out of the media. He finds the perfect solution in Everly. As mysterious as she is beautiful, she provides an enticing distraction from his pain. Soon, physical therapy is the last thing on his mind.

When an act of betrayal brings the truths they both fear to light, Cole will have to fight for the first time in his life…not just for his career, but for Everly’s love.

Reviews:

I'll admit, I'm a sucker when it comes to stories where the female character is a physical therapist, being a PT myself.  I was thrilled when I read the summary and it did not disappoint!

Everly is a PT student in the Doctorate program at the local college.  Cole is the brother of one of her favorite professors, as well as the star baseball pitcher for the local major-league  team.  He has injured his shoulder and due to it being a contract year, does not want anyone to know.  His brother sets him up with Everly to provide his therapy instead of going to the hospital/MDs for his care.

As they work together a friendship builds slowly.  There was definitely that instant attraction, but both have trust issues so it was wonderful to see them becoming friends and trusting each other before embarking on a relationship so quickly.  I feel the slow build up also allowed for much deeper character development.  Everly had a very tough childhood with multiple tragic events and Cole is used to people being more interested in his money and fame than in him.  Building up their friendship before moving onto the next step was vital for both of the characters and I felt Ms. Thomas did a great job with that.

I love, love, love Cole.  He is hot, fun and down to earth.  Everly is sweet, responsible, smart and driven. She  takes on a lot of responsibility and even though it is tough, is able to manage it all and never complains.  She loves her grandfather and doesn't consider it a hardship to care for him. Cole on the other hand came from a loving family and a great childhood, but as his fame has risen, he has a hard time trusting in others as he has learned that most people are interested in his money and being in spotlight than interested in home.  Everly has never been given the opportunity to relax and just enjoy life.  Cole helps her with this and, boy, do the sparks fly when she finally lets him in.

There was a great twist in this book with a bit of a mystery plot too.  I sooo did not see the ending to that storyline coming!

Loved the story, the characters, and the happily ever after ending!  Although a PT student would never have that much expertise, that minor detail did not distract from the great story and I love it! -Tynna

This story has really struck a chord in me.  I was excited to read a story about a Physical Therapist since that is my profession.  Everly is a graduate student studying for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  One of her professors has a younger brother, Cole Parker, who is a major league baseball player who has injured his shoulder.  Cole is up for re-signing and does not want his injury to be known.  He seeks his brother's help in finding someone to help him rehabilitate.  That someone happens to be Everly.

Little does Cole know that Everly is a huge baseball fan and has had a crush on Cole for years!  She must hide her feelings and physical attraction in order to prepare Cole for the upcoming season.  Sparks fly during the process!

As Cole and Everly get to know each other, they are forced to deal with other people in their lives and from their pasts that will do everything in their power to keep them apart.  Are their feelings for each other strong enough to survive?

I love happy endings and Raine Thomas has delivered!  I actually got chills at the end of the story!  This is a great love story that does not disappoint and makes the reader truly believe in happily ever after!! - Kelly

  Author Bio:

Raine Thomas is the award-winning author of a bestselling series of YA fantasy/romance novels about the Estilorian plane. Her upcoming release, FOR EVERLY, is a New Adult Contemporary Romance. Raine became truly passionate about writing when one of her stories took an Honorable Mention in a fourth-grade writing competition (who would have thought a story about a dancing spider would garner so much attention?). Carrying that passion with her, she earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in Creative Writing from Georgia State University, then her master’s degree in Humanities from Central Michigan University.

Residing in Orlando, Florida, Raine is a hopeless romantic with a background in the fields of mental health and wedding planning…two areas that intersect far more than one would think. Her years working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges inspired her to create young protagonists who overcome their own conflicts. She’s a proud member of Romance Writers of America and a contributing blogger to The Writer’s Voice. When she isn’t writing or glued to e-mail or social networking sites, Raine can usually be found vacationing with her husband and daughter on one of Florida’s beautiful beaches or crossing the border to visit with her Canadian friends and relatives.
