Synopsis:

Whoever said life is hard didn’t know the half of it!

Completely devastated when his life is ripped out from underneath him, Jordan Rhodes decides to take a break. A break from everything he’s always known; the country club life-style, his life-long friends and his overbearing parents. He just wants to be free to get lost and not feel the pain he has endured.

Kimber Maguire has been dealt the tough card her entire life. An ailing mom, a sister who refuses to face reality and a yearning for the one that got away, she finds putting one foot in front of the other as her only saving grace. What she really wants is to be free of feeling the pressure that is her life to get lost.

But when Jordan finds Kimber while losing himself, they both discover, sometimes you just need to feel to be found.

Review:

Sweet is the first word that comes to my mind, as I am wiping the tears from my eyes, after finishing this book.

Jordan leaves his hometown after a tragedy in his life and stumbles onto a small town where he decides to just settle for a bit to get over what happened.  Kimber has lived in this small town all her life.  She is tough, working multiple jobs, taking care of her ailing mom and taking classes, yet she is broken too.

Once they meet, both see how they can help to heal the other, but of course, neither are willing to admit it right away. Yet the chemistry between them can't be denied.  I loved their background stories and how their pasts shaped who they were today.  If they had met under any other circumstances, it never would have worked. But through a variety of circumstances for both, Jordan and Kimber find each other and find true love.  Kimber has a hard time accepting help from anyone and often runs when things get tough with Jordan as she just can't believe there is someone she can truly rely on.  Jordan is so sweet and just keeps showing her time and again that she can trust him and that he trusts her too.

Although I found the story line a bit slow to start, (I will admit I like steamy action between the characters right away in my romances!), the writing was so captivating that I couldn't put it down.  I became invested in these characters  and their tragedies and triumphs, that I was rooting for them before they even got together.  And then once they did meet, the sparks flew and I couldn't get enough of them!!
I did find her best friend, Heidi, very annoying.  But she was a minor enough supporting character that it didn't distract me from the main story.

No two people deserved a happy ending more than Jordan and Kimber and I was so happy to see them get one! - Tynna
